Oppo Watch and Oppo Reno4 Pro coming to India soon

In March this year, Oppo unveiled the Oppo Find X2 series after a long year of hiatus. However, the company also announced a new product that marked its big entrance in the world of smartwatches – The Oppo Watch. Despite the growing demand for good smartwatches in the world, the Oppo Watch is yet to leave the domestic scene. According to a recent FCC listing, the wearable will make it outside of China pretty soon, and apparently, one of the first markets where it will land in India. According to industry insiders, the Oppo Watch official international debut will happen alongside the Oppo Reno4 Pro 5G. This is likely taking place between July 20 and 24. Now that the Global version is ready to hit the shelves in India, we can expect to see it reach more markets in the coming months.
Oppo Watch specifications
The Oppo smartwatch flaunts a 1.9-inch AMOLED display. That’s a hyperboloid flexible display. The wearable is available in two sizes – 41mm and 46mm. Two physical buttons are present on the watch for a better feeling of control. The watch boasts an aluminum casing which surely gives a premium appeal. As far as performance is concerned, we have a Snapdragon 2500 Wear Mobile Platform leading the show. Storage-wise, we have 8GB of RAm. The watch supports cellular connection via eSIM. One of the biggest appeals of the Oppo Watch is its ECG feature. That is a hot feature that is currently available in a few select devices. Of course, this feature’s availability willRead More…

Oppo Reno 10x Zoom can now record videos with its periscope and ultra-wide cameras 4

Oppo Reno 10x Zoom can now record videos with its periscope and ultra-wide cameras

Back in the last year, Oppo unveiled the Oppo Reno 10X Zoom as one of the most exciting smartphones to reach the Reno lineup. It was one of the first-ever smartphones to sport a periscope camera. The handset came with a triple-camera featuring the aforementioned periscope lens, an 8MP Ultrawide cam, and a 48MP primary sensor. Despite the appeal of the other two sensors, only the 48MP camera was available for video recording. Now, however, this restriction is finally being removed thanks to the latest ColorOS 7.1 update which enables video recording on the Periscope and Ultra-Wide cameras. The Periscope Camera offers up to 5x optical zoom, 10x hybrid zoom, and up to 30x digital zoom. The Ultra-Wide camera, obviously, will allow you to record videos with a better field of view. You can see a quick demonstration of the new recording features via this video recorded by XDA-Developers Junior Member Subzuda:
[embedded content] Unfortunately, the video recording on these cameras is limited to 1080 resolution and 30 frames per second. If you need better videos with up to 4K resolution and 60 frames-per-second, you can still go with the primary sensor. The new video recording modes are available in the PCMM00_11_C.24 update. It’s currently rolling out in China. While the ColorOS 7.1 update is already available outside of China, it does not include the new video recording modes.

Oppo Reno 4 and Reno 4 Pro bag multiple certifications, launch is imminent 5

Oppo Reno 4 and Reno 4 Pro bag multiple certifications, launch is imminent

After releasing the Oppo Find X2 and X2 Pro in March this year, Oppo shifted its focus to the Reno series. The Reno series conquered the world last year with powerful smartphones and competitive prices. For that reason, it makes sense for the company to keep the Find X series as a premium smartphone lineup while the Reno series comes for those looking for a more affordable experience. On June 5, the company announced the Oppo Reno 4 and Reno 4 Pro 5G boasting the 5G-enabled Snapdragon 765G SoC. Since then, there has been a lot of speculation pointing to the launch of the aforementioned devices in India and other regions. Reno 4 was certified in Thailand last month suggesting the launch in South East Asia. Now, Reno 4 accumulated a foot set of certifications which confirms its launch in SEA and also in the global markets. The Oppo Reno 4 Pro will be slightly different
The handset already got TUV Rheinland approval, followed by Bluetooth SIG and Wi-Fi Alliance. The Reno 4 carries the CPH2089 model number while the Reno 4 Pro carries the CPH2091 serial. These certifications are part of an important process that happens before a smartphone is launched outside of China. Once that a device gets these important certifications, we can pretty much conclude that it is pretty near of reaching the shores. Oppo Reno 4 Pro Global Variant Will Be Different Than The Chinese Variant 6

Oppo Reno 4 Pro Global Variant Will Be Different Than The Chinese Variant

A week ago, I posted about the certifications of Oppo Reno 4 Pro. The Oppo Reno 4 Pro passed through BIS and IMDA certifications. The certifications hinted at India and Singapore launch. This will be the first time Reno 4 series smartphone will be heading to a global release. Now, some popular tech personalities have got the review units and they have hinted something that I was most scared about. To re-call, Reno 3 series was launched with different processors in the global market. The Reno 3 Pro didn’t feature 5G chipset in the global market while the Chinese variant had it. We were left with Helio P95, which was a disappointment. This time around, we will be getting the same thing that happened with Reno 3 series. Thanks to my personal two favorite tech personalities, Linus Tech Tips and StuffListings, we can confirm that specifications are going to be changed in the global variant of Reno 4 Pro. Here’s something exclusive for you. I can confirm that Oppo is indeed bringing a premium device to India, which will likely be the Oppo Reno 4 Pro. For india, it’ll be different, 3D curved display will stay, refresh rate and size will change.Feel free to retweet 😉 #oppoIndia pic.twitter.com/aWPOaF3i86
— Mukul Sharma (@stufflistings) July 3, 2020 According to the tweet, we can confirm that the Reno 4 Pro will keep the 3D curved display. Although, the refresh rate and size are going to change. To recall, the Reno 4 Pro comes with a 90Hz refresh rate. I don’t think thRead More…

OnePlus Nord Will be a 5G phone with Snapdragon Chipset at the core

OnePlus blitz is in full swing before the launch of its upcoming Nord phone. That’s right, OnePlus settled with ‘Nord’ as the name for its new under $500 segment smartphone. What about the specifications you may ask? Well, Qualcomm has officially confirmed that it will be a Snapdragon-based 5G phone. The Chipmaker expressed its excitement via a tweet but shied away from divulging further details.
There have been reports in the past that suggested that OnePlus Nord will be driven by Snapdragon 765G chipset. These claims are likely to be true.
OnePlus has mostly focused only on the premium tier and is making a fresh attempt to compete in mid-tier (second attempt if you consider the OnePlus X). Back at the launch of OnePlus 7T (review) in India, OnePlus said that it’s all future phone will have a fluid display with at least 90Hz refresh rate. Similarly, at the time of the OnePlus 8 (review) launch, the company said that it is “going all-in on 5G.”

Oppo has pretty much changed its software-philosophy after Realme proved to be a success. If in the past the company was marked by the lack of software updates for its smartphone, now it is doing a remarkable job in bringing Android 10-based ColoOS 7 for recent smartphones.
