Samsung Galaxy Tab S7+ Specifications Tipped, May Launch on August 5: Report

Samsung is expected to bring two flagship tablets this year. The Galaxy Tab S7 and Galaxy Tab S7+ are reportedly expected to be launched at the online Galaxy Unpacked event on August 5. Several specifications have surfaced around the Galaxy Tab S7+ that suggest that the device may be powered by the recently unveiled Snapdragon 865+ processor. The South Korean giant is also expected to unveil its Galaxy Note 20 series of phones as well at the virtual event.
According to a report by SamMobile, the Galaxy Tab S7+ is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 865+ SoC, which can clock speeds of up to 3.1GHz and claims to offer 10 percent power boost when compared to the regular Snapdragon 865.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S7+ is expected to come in two memory variants, with 6GB or 8GB RAM and 128GB or 256GB of onboard storage, respectively. In terms of display, the Galaxy Tab S7+ would feature an AMOLED screen with an expected resolution of 2,800×1,752 pixels. The display will also support S Pen with built-in Bluetooth. Apple to Introduce 12.9-Inch iPad Pro in Q1 2021, Taps Suppliers for Mini-LED Technology for MacBook: Report 2

Apple to Introduce 12.9-Inch iPad Pro in Q1 2021, Taps Suppliers for Mini-LED Technology for MacBook: Report

Apple will unveil a 12.9-inch iPad Pro with Mini-LED display in the first quarter of 2021, according to a report. Expected to be the Cupertino giant’s first Mini-LED offering, the iPad Pro may be followed by a 16-inch MacBook Pro and a new 14-inch MacBook Pro. It was earlier rumoured that Apple might release the new iPad Pro in the first half of 2021. The new development helps narrow down the window a little. Apple has also been sourcing suppliers to develop Mini-LED technology for the new MacBook Pro models. The report suggests that Apple may be looking into Taiwanese manufacturers for this.
Reported by TrendForce as per investigations by its LEDinside research division, the new 12.9-inch iPad Pro will come with a Mini-LED screen, which promises high contrast ratios, high dynamic range and a rich colour range. To achieve the high colour saturation through local dimming and an impressive contrast ratio, the iPad Pro will be fitted with 10,384 Mini-LED chips. The report suggests that this might pose a big challenge for manufacturers in meeting demands for low cost and high yield rate.
Apple has also opened contract bids for Mini-LED backlights for its upcoming 16-inch and 14-inch iterations of the MacBook Pro. In terms of display, the contrast ratios Mini-LED technology can go up to 1,000,000:1. In comparison, the current generation of displays generally offer a ratio of 10,000:1. The report also suggests that the new display technology is “highly reliable” as it can mainRead More…

Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite Review 3

Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite Review

The Galaxy Tab S6 Lite is a new addition to Samsung’s tablet lineup. As its name suggests, this is a less expensive version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6, which I reviewed late last year. The Galaxy Tab S6 is very pricey but has an AMOLED display, quad speakers and a powerful processor, whereas the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite has a TFT display, dual speakers, and a somewhat weaker processor. The Galaxy Tab S6 Lite is available in Wi-Fi and LTE versions, priced at Rs. 27,999 and Rs. 31,999 respectively. Samsung has obviously had to cut costs with this new ‘Lite’ version, but is it still good enough to recommend? Read on to find out.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite design: Looks fairly premium
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite looks a lot like the Galaxy Tab S6 (Review) from the front, but with a slightly smaller 10.4-inch display. It has thick bezels, which is acceptable for a tablet of this size. At 7mm thick, the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite is actually slimmer than some of the smartphones I’ve recently reviewed. This tablet weighs 467g which is definitely noticeable when using it for prolonged durations with one hand. However, I did find two handed use to be comfortable.
Samsung has opted for a metallic finish which makes the device feel premium. The Galaxy Tab S6 Lite is available in three colours – Angora Blue, Oxford Gray, and Chiffon Pink – of which, we have the latter. To my eye, it looks more like rose gold than pink. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite comes witRead More…

Apple Will Launch 10.8-Inch iPad in 2020, 8.5-Inch iPad Mini in 2021: Analyst

Apple will launch a new 10.8-inch iPad in the second half of 2020, followed by an 8.5-inch iPad model in the first half of 2021, said analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. According to a report citing the analyst, the 8.5-inch iPad is said to be a new version of iPad mini, but it is unclear if the rumoured 10.8-inch iPad will also be a new version of the existing iPad models. Apple unveiled the new iPad Pro models in March this year.
According to Kuo’s research note, which was reported on by MacRumors, the new 10.8-inch and 8.5-inch iPad models will likely include a new 20W power adapter inside the box. Other specifications of the iPad models were not highlighted.
Interestingly, Kuo had recently tipped that the iPhone 12 models won’t include Apple Earpods and power adapter inside the box. The analyst also expects the arrival of third-generation Airpods next year.
Meanwhile, Apple has unveiled the next-generation iPadOS 14 at this year’s WWDC event. The iPadOS 14 introduces a new UI with redesigned widgets. It also includes new upgrades like sidebars and pull-down menus to let users quickly access more apps from a single location, without switching views. Another key feature of the latest iPadOS is the enhanced Scribble functionality.
A previous report has speculated that the future iPad models will be equipped with Apple’s T2 security chip.
